Alumni Travel is delighted to offer another special tour to Hobart for a musical weekend celebrating the great music that came from the Imperial city of Vienna from composers from Mozart to Lehár at historic Epsom House, featuring Seraphim Trio with Andrew Havoren, Jacqui Cronin and Lorina Gore, and presented once again by broadcaster and writer, Christopher Lawrence.
This tour is presented by the Australian Archaeological Institute at Athens, in association with Alumni Travel. Centrally placed between the eastern and western Mediterranean Sicily has attracted raider and traders to her shores for thousands of years. Sicily is also home to some of the most interesting archaeological sites and historical monuments in Europe, many with UNESCO World heritage listing.
Far to the east of Beirut, Damascus, Aleppo, Jerusalem and the other great cities of the Levant exists a completely different world, namely that of the Arabian peninsula. The peninsula, of course, is dominated geographically by Saudi Arabia whilst to the east we have Oman and Yemen, the land of Sheba.
Pacific Patterns – the cultural fabric of Aotearoa New Zealand
The tour is presented by New Zealand born artist and cultural textiles expert Carole Douglas of Desert Traditions. It traces the pathway of Pacific inspired arts and textiles from the arrival of the first Polynesian settlers through to the present day. The tour will travel by bus, local transport, train and ferry from Auckland to Nelson and is a rich mix of visits to cultural institutions and arts centres and hands on workshops with leading artists.
