A Cuban Rumba
Departing 27-Nov-2010
to 12-Dec-2010
This is a journey through a spectacular Caribbean island landscape with an eclectic culture evolving in a different way from its neighbours, and thus preserving some interesting anachronisms and a unique sense of itself. The lack of modern built development in regional cities has also meant the preservation of much of the architectural heritage of early European settlement, which has led to the declaration of a number of UNESCO heritage areas such as the Old Quarter of Havana and the city of Trinidad.
The tour is designed to explore the length and breadth of Cuba, visiting the most interesting centres, allowing time to observe the natural and built environment, to soak up the atmosphere, and make contact with the locals. Where possible, we will be staying in centrally located hotels, that are typically of regional architectural styles, or in places that provide comfort and allow easy access. The tour includes some meals, all entries as indicated in the following pages and some interesting entertainment.
