Music in Tasmania

Fancy an overseas trip that keeps you within Australia? In March 2015 this year we have put together a short musical break in Hobart, the centerpiece of which is a weekend recital in a beautiful country house, of the Beethoven Cycle, performed by the nationally acclaimed Seraphim Trio. The weekend includes talks on the Cycle by popular ABC Classic FM presenter Christopher Lawrence, interspersed with sumptuous refreshments and a walk around the historic town of Pontville. The package extends before and after the weekend with drives to the Derwent Valley and a walking tour of historic Hobart. Entry and ferry tickets to the exciting new cultural centre, MONA are also included. This should be a relaxed and enjoyable sojourn to Tasmania.

And so the Australian dollar drops again, obviously affecting some tour prices, BUT this time it is doing so only against the USD. It is holding up well against the Euro and has gained on the Yen. I think in the latter case, it might be possible to reduce the cost of the Japan tour, Japan: Through the Torii Gate, in April. I shall be watching the rate and then acting if it stabilizes.
